Sommeliers was the world's first wine glass collection. This revolutionary design was created by Claus J. Riedel (9th generation). The series adheres to the Bauhaus movement: form follows function. Claus J. Riedel had discovered that certain wines displayed greater depth and better balance when drunk from certain chalice shapes. The Sommeliers series, with its understated, finely blown lines, marked the beginning of RIEDEL's dominance in the global wine glass market.
